Stephen Weinstein, Esq. - President
Stephen S. ("Skippy") Weinstein has devoted his law practice for the past 50 years to pursuing the claims of the injured, their families, and the criminally accused. In recognition of his achievements Skippy has been selected for inclusion in New Jersey Super Lawyers Magazine, 2005-present and appeared on the magazine’s cover in 2006. Skippy has lectured in numerous venues and is the author of a wide array of articles on personal injury and criminal law. In addition to his family and the law, Skippy’s love is for horses and he rides extensively. He lives in New Vernon with his wife Nancy (a retired hospice nurse) and he has four married children and eight grandchildren.
Laurie L. Newmark, Esq. - Vice President
Laurie L. Newmark has been an attorney sine 1998 handling all aspects of family law including divorce, custody, domestic violence and mediation in New Jersey. Laurie also represents parents in actions involving DCP& P, and has experience with cases involving allegations of abuse and neglect. Laurie is certified as a matrimonial attorney by the Supreme Court of NJ. She was included in the New Jersey Super Lawyers Magazine as a Rising Star from 2006 to 2013 and on the Super Lawyers list in 2015 and 2014. Laurie lives in Randolph with her husband and children.
Brad Muniz - Treasurer
Brad Muniz, CPA is a partner with Sobel & Company, LLC, where he services the individual and business community. He is very active in the accounting profession where he mentors young professionals and has held numerous positions within the NJCPA, including President 2014-2015. Brad also serves on other committees with the AICPA. A strong advocate of volunteering, he serves on various boards, including; Family Intervention Services, Milton School, and Knoll Golf Advisory Committee. Brad is a graduate of William Paterson University, where he acted as an adjunct professor and currently provides guidance to School of Business in developing an Accounting Advisory Committee. Brad and his wife, Diane, reside in Parsippany where they raised their three children.
Michelle Beatty, Esq. - Secretary
Michelle Beatty is an associate with Morris, Downing & Sherred, LLP in Newton, New Jersey. She graduated from the Washington and Lee University School of Law in 2007, magna cum laude. Michelle joined the Board in 2012. Michelle lives in Sussex County with her husband and 2 children.
Brian Amery - Trustee
Brian Amery is a founding partner and currently the managing partner of the law firm Bressler, Amery and Ross, P.C. For over 35 years he has represented brokerage firms and other business clients in litigations and arbitrations and in regulatory matters. Brian's firm is a strong supporter of CASA’s galas, Go Blue and other events. Prior to joining the CASA Board, Brian served on several non-profit Boards including Spring Brook Country Club and Far Hills Country Day School. He joined the CASA Board in 2013.
Mindy Beck - Trustee
Mindy Beck joined the Board of Trustees in 2014; however, she has been involved with our organization since its inception. It was in Mindy’s home that the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) voted to start a CASA chapter in Morris County back in 1986. Mindy was a CASA volunteer serving 10 children. She is a long time member of Adath Shalom Synagogue where she has served as past Vice President of Membership, and past Sisterhood President. Mindy is a Senior Vice President-Investment Officer at Wells Fargo Advisors in Florham Park. She was our organization’s honoree at our 2014 Gala.
Jeanne Bratsafolis - Trustee
Jeanne Bratsafolis was a high school teacher before graduating from Rutgers University School of Law. She has been a corporate attorney for the last 29 years and most recently held the position of Group Vice President - Legal for Wyndham Exchange & Rentals. Jeanne lives in Morristown with her husband, Todd Poland, and between them they have five grown children and six grandchildren. Jeanne joined the Board in July 2011.
Jeannie Neufeld - Trustee
Jeannie Neufeld is a Director of Public Relations at Novartis. She has more than 20 years of experience in public relations, reputation and issues management, external affairs, internal communications and patient relations. Along with healthcare, Jeannie has worked in insurance services, business information and academia. She has served on non-profit Boards for the Adath Shalom Synagogue Religious School and the Randolph YMCA Swim Team. Jeannie lives in Randolph with her husband and two children.
Jennifer O’Donnell - Trustee
A graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in Hotel Restaurant Tourism Administration, Jennifer has used her education in a variety of ways. A Summer Camp Director, a substitute teacher in the Morris School District, a consultant for Bogart, Delafield, Ferrier, a CCD and Pre-Canna volunteer, countless volunteer positions within the school district, as well as a prior member of the Morristown Junior League. For the past two years, Jennifer has worked on CASA’s annual Gala, spearheading the Silent Auction. Jennifer, an empty nester, always says that her most rewarding accomplishment was the opportunity to raise two wonderful children. Jennifer resides in Morristown with her husband Mike where they strive to give back to their community.
Kate Tomlinson - Trustee
Kate Tomlinson became Publisher and Editor in Chief of New Jersey Monthly in 1988. She has served on the boards of several non-profit organizations prior to joining the CASA of Morris and Sussex Counties’ Board. Kate received a B.A. degree from the Radcliffe College of Harvard University in 1977 and a Masters from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, DC, in 1979. She lives in Summit with her husband and son.
